Description
A longhorn cow grazes by a silo. The organic lines of the cow’s form set against the sharply defined lines of man-made structures provided the contrast and gentle tension that motivated me to create this scene. The old buildings are part of a remote farmstead, which lies in a draw, amongst the rolling hills of the Palouse region of Southeast Washington, between the small towns of Waitsburg and Starbuck. This scene I portrayed with charcoal on cotton paper.
