Description
Eclipsed by the State: a Critical Look at Christian America. The tendency for modern American Christians to be loyal to the US Empire and to follow the government instead of following their hearts led me to create this painting. I hope it can contribute to causing Christians, and anyone else for that matter, to reconsider their relationship with the state. Very interesting work! As an Orthodox Christian I sympathize and my favorite chant comes from a Psalm: "Put not your trust in princes, in sons of men, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs he returns to his earth, on that very day his plans perish. Put your trust in the Lord..." This world or nation is not our destination but just passing through. A meaningful and thought-provoking image!
