The setting of this painting is the Ottawa Freedom Convoy protests against Medical Police State Measures that occurred in early 2022. The freedom protesters were heavily slandered as “fascists, racists, Nazis” and so forth by both legacy media outlets, politicians, and unfortunately much of the supposedly anti-establishment Left, that proved to be very pro-establishment after all. To capture this spirit of insisting that the freedom protesters were some sort of monsters, I drew upon the imagery and symbolism of the early 17th century epic – Don Quixote de la Mancha.
